Some volunteers show up. Wendy Tocci shows up — every Monday night, rain or shine — and makes sure every single runner makes it back too. A proud member of the Onteora Runners Club, Wendy has become the steady, welcoming presence that defines what this club is all about.
Week after week, Wendy arrives prepared. She researches and plans the route, greets newcomers with a warm smile, and sets the tone for a run where no one feels out of place. Whether you're lacing up for the first time or returning after a long break, Wendy makes you feel like you belong.
That motto isn't just a saying on Wendy's watch — it's a promise she personally keeps. When the pace spreads the group out, Wendy circles back, finds the runners bringing up the rear, and guides them along the route so no one is ever lost or left wondering which way to go.
Beyond Monday nights, Wendy is a reliable fixture at club races and highway cleanups, volunteering her time and energy wherever needed. Her consistency, her care, and her commitment to the community embody the very spirit of the Onteora Runners Club.
